The alleged murderer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson has officially been charged as of December 10th. Luigi Mangione will face his second-degree murder charge after he is extradited to New York, a process which he is now attempting to fight.
But is this case as cut-and-dry as the news outlets seem to think? Some savvy folks online are raising excellent points that are worth a discussion at the very least.
Please note that I am NOT guessing one way or another whether Mangione is actually the shooter. I simply feel it’s important to point out that there may be something else going on under the surface. Or, there may not be! You take a look and decide for yourself.
First up, we have the alleged manifesto that news outlets have refused to publish. I say alleged because this manifesto has circulated primarily on social media (like this Substack) and hasn’t been “officially” verified to my knowledge.
“To the Feds, I’ll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”
If this was truly written by Mangione, it speaks pretty clearly for itself.
However, just for the sake of argument, what if Mangione was a patsy? After all, that is the only other option. He either killed Thompson or he didn’t and is now taking the fall for someone else’s crime.
There are some who think this conspiracy involves Nancy Pelosi:
And then there’s this speculation:
“Brian Thompson wasn’t just a CEO; he was the gatekeeper of one of the largest healthcare empires in the world. UnitedHealthcare is a cornerstone of a system built on greed, corruption, and exploitation. Thompson’s assassination isn’t about personal grievances; it’s about power.
Sources close to the healthcare industry have hinted that Thompson was sitting on a cache of documents that could expose massive fraud and corruption at the highest levels. These documents, reportedly tied to secret dealings with Big Pharma, had the potential to blow open the truth about the healthcare system’s complicity in keeping people sick for profit.
Thompson was allegedly in the process of turning whistleblower—preparing to release information that would implicate not only his own company but also key government agencies, lobbyists, and even global health organizations. The timing of his murder is no coincidence. They silenced him before he could pull the trigger on their entire operation.“
I’m not familiar with this news outlet or its reputation, but the story is compelling and worth a read, as long as you’re prepared to take it with a massive grain of salt.
The article presents one possible explanation for why something doesn’t quite add up:
“Consider this: Mangione was found with a Faraday bag, $8,000 in cash, foreign currency, fake IDs, and a 3D-printed ghost gun with a silencer. These aren’t the tools of a deranged lunatic acting alone. These are the tools of someone following a plan—a plan he likely didn’t even fully understand because his handlers ensured he wouldn’t. His erratic behavior during his arrest and court appearances screams of someone whose programming is breaking down.
And yet, they want you to believe this is just another random act of violence? Wake up. Mangione isn’t the mastermind; he’s the fall guy. The real architects are operating in the shadows, and their motives are clear: silence, distraction, and control.“
Some users online have been quick to point out several logical inconsistencies with the official story:

If you’re at all familiar with MK Ultra and you go in for that kind of (totally confirmed) “conspiracy theory,” you have to admit this last detail smacks of a brainwashing scheme.
I’m not the only one thinking it…
Although, to give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps Mangione was simply making test Tweets for a program he was coding.
Here’s more weirdness:
I make no guesses one way or the other, but I will be following this story as it continues to develop.
For now, I’ll leave you with this bizarre video of Mangione being taken into court:
